Day 1
Arrival in Edinburgh airport and pick up of your rental car. You will travel to the city centre and depending on your arrival time, we could recommend to start your Scottish trip with an afternoon tea. You won't be surpried to read there is a great deal to see in Scotland's capital so make sure you don't miss anything by including a bus tour. Each tour we offer is tailor-made to offer a distinctive and entertaining experience and provide a great introduction to Scotland's capital city. What's more, the hop-on hop-off tickets give you the flexibility to visit the famous sights as you pass them.
Overnight in Edinburgh / Edinburgh area
Day 2
After your first Scottish breakfast, you will visit Edinburgh’s ‘New Town’ built in the 18th century with its beautiful spacious squares and gardens. On up to Calton Hill to admire the wonderful views of the city and continue to the old part of the city stopping for photos at Holyrood Palace, the official residence of the queen in Edinburgh and past the new Scottish parliament building. Travel up the Royal Mile to visit Edinburgh Castle and see the Scottish crown jewels, the oldest in Europe. There are numerous other attractions in Scotland’s Capital; there are many different museums and visitor attractions as well as some wonderful shopping.

Day 3
This morning you can discover Scotland’s biggest city, Glasgow. Glasgow is the largest and best retail centre in the UK outside of London and With an outstanding art gallery and several excellent museums as a starting point,You will then continue on through the Trossachs with it’s wild glens and sparkling lochs.
You can stop to discover Inveraray Castle, charming homeland of the Duke of Argyll, the head of the Campbell Clan. The castle testifies to the power and the riches of the Campbells, one of the most powerful and esteemed of the highland Clans and is the iconic, must-see visitor attraction on the West Coast of Scotland.You will arrive in Oban area in the late afternoon.

Day 4
Today you will depart for Mull, the second largest island of the Inner Hebrides, off the west coast of Scotland. Much-visited for its beautiful scenery , including waterfalls and sea caves, it is also very popular for fishing and is home to 2 golf courses (at Tobermory and Craignure). The southern and western parts of the island are where you will find the mountains. The highest of them all at 3169 feet is Ben More whose scree slopes are the remnants of a volcano which exploded 60 million years ago.

Day 5
Today you will discover Fort William, the second largest settlement in the highlands and a major tourist centre. It is an important centre for hillwalking and climbing due to its proximity to Ben Nevis and many other Munro mountains, marketing itself as the "Outdoor Capital of the UK". It also boasts The West Highland Museum in the centre of the town and the High street has a good range of shops. |
You can then continue to Mallaig to take the short ferry across to the Isle of Skye. Recently voted '4th best island in the world by the National Geographic magazine.’
On arrival at Armadale you can take the chance to visit the Museum of the Isles and the Clan Donald Centre. You can then drive up to Portree, the island's main settlement. On your way back to the main land, you will see Eilean Donan Castle. As one of the most iconic images of Scotland, Eilean Donan is recognised all around the world. Situated on an island at the point where three great sea lochs meet, and surrounded by some majestic scenery, it is little wonder that the castle is now one of the most visited and important attractions in the Scottish highlands.

Day 6
Today you will continue your journey northwards along the banks of Loch Ness and enjoy a visit to Urquhart Castle which sits on the banks of Loch Ness, the home to the legendary monster of the loch “Nessie”.
You might want to enjoy a cruise on the loch (May to October only)
You can then discover Inverness, the capital of the Highlands and a diverse and bustling city with a compact and attractive centre. The River Ness still provides a key focus, and attractions like the castle, Inverness Cathedral and the Eden Court Theatre can all be found on its banks. Close to the castle is the excellent Inverness Museum and Art Gallery.
On your way back South, you can stop in Newtonmore folk Park. The Newtonmore Living History Museum opened in 1995, and is located on a mile long site. This open air Museum includes re-constructed buildings, a 1700s 'Township', a 1940 working farm, live interpretation and a range of visitor facilities, which is still developing with two new buildings opening in 2011.

Day 7
Your fist stop will be Blair Castle. The castle enjoys one of Scotland’s finest settings in the heart of Highland Perthshire. You can then visit Blair Atholl Distillery. Established in 1798, it is one of the oldest working distilleries in Scotlandand produces a 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky, with a mellow deep-toned aroma, a strong fruity flavour and a smooth finish. Blair Athol wins hearts through its contribution to the Bell's Blend, the most popular blended whisky in the U.K. You will then travel to the historic city of Stirling where you can visit the magnificent Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s grandest castles and home of the Wallace Monument.

Day 8
Unfortunately it is time to leave Scotland. Before going to the airport, you might want to stop in Falkirk to see the famous Wheel, the world’s only rotating boat lift. Return to the airport and leave your car but take your memories!
