Arrive at London Airport and pick up your self-drive car.
Then, you will depart to Oxford situated about 55 miles north-west of Central London. Oxford is known as the "city of dreaming spires", in reference to the harmonious architecture of the university buildings (its colleges date back to the 13th century). Day 2
After your first English breakfast, you will depart to Stratford–Upon–Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare, the greatest writer in the English language, and home to the theatres of the world-renowned Royal Shakespeare Company, Stratford is a charming market town set in the heart of rural England. A delightful river winds its way through the town, past the beautiful Holy Trinity Church, where Shakespeare lies buried. There are some wonderful half-wooden buildings that date back to Shakespeare’s time including the famous cottage of Anne Hathaway, who married the great writer in 1582. You can even see the school Shakespeare attended. Then continue to Warwick Castle. This is, quite simply, the greatest medieval castle in Britain. With a history that dates back over 1,000 years, Warwick Castle will take you back in time - to a world of sumptuous banquets, bloody battles and royal splendour. This morning you will depart to the Lake District, one of Britain’s most beautiful corners, fusing green dales, stark, Rocky Mountains and spectacular lakes together. Located in North-West England, the region is filled with many of the country’s most beautiful sights. Eminent writers such as William Wordsworth & Beatrix Potter drew their inspirations from this picturesque area of the British Isles and the breathtaking views also inspired England’s most illustrious landscape artist, John Constable. In addition to the fabulous scenery, the Lake District is home to a myriad of buildings from ruined castles and writers houses, to ancient churches and Roman ruins. In the afternoon you will head off on tour to the very heart of the Lake District including a scenic cruise on Lake Coniston. The first stop is Hill Top, Beatrix Potter’s home, where she wrote several of her famous children’s stories. Then on to Hawkshead, with its quaint alley ways, 12th century church, and the 16th century Grammar school attended by William Wordsworth, and the Beatrix Potter gallery. In the late afternoon you will journey to Grasmere and the surrounding valleys, where Wordsworth spent most of his life and produced his finest poetry.

Day 4
After your breakfast, you will depart for the Yorkshire Dales. The beauty of the Yorkshire Dales is renowned. It is an area of many moods, expansive, tranquil and charming and at times even awesome. The pretty market towns dotted through the Dales are filled with pubs and quaint shops. In contrast, a sense of space and solitude marks the North York Moors, where ridge upon ridge of heather moor land roll into the purple distance. Take a steam railway journey through ‘Heartbeat’ country or admire the view from the top of Sutton Bank – don’t forget your camera! It is little wonder that North Yorkshire was recently crowned the ‘Garden of England’! The coastline of North Yorkshire holds some of our favorite spots. Whitby was recently voted the UK’s favorite seaside resort and Scarborough and Filey provide ample opportunity to enjoy traditional Victorian seaside resorts.
